How to Enliven Company Culture

On April 19th, 2011, IPS invited 30 people to attend "Enlivening Company Culture".

The event, being led by Joyce Li, introduced participants to concepts of how to enliven company culture and engaged participants with new ideas.

The first part was to establish the elements of company culture; Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Key Success Factors. During the lead up to the event, IPS conducted random calls to companies and enquired about their company mission and vision. This was to see if people were aware of what the mission and vision of the organisation is. Of the 20 calls made, only 2 people knew 'something' about their company mission and vision; 2 people responded that it was a 'company secret' and could not share the information. This information was, however, freely available on the company website.

The 2 hour workshop demonstrated how important these 4 elements are to a company's culture, and how to use them to enliven your company's culture. Examples of other organisations were given and discussed among participants, and Joyce Li shared some interesting ideas of how to use the Orientation process to create a good impression on new team members in order to reduce start-up costs, increase retention and save time for supervisors.
